Curriculum Leaflets
The curriculum at Great Dunmow Primary School is organised to meet the national requirements for pupils aged 4 - 5 years in the Foundation Year, in Key Stage 1 (aged 5 - 7 years) and Key Stage 2 (aged 8 - 11 years).
Our children in the Foundation Stage follow the nationally expected six areas of learning. These areas provide a framework for later achievements.
The 6 areas are:
Personal,
Social and Emotional Development
Communication, Language and Literacy
Mathematical Development
Knowledge and Understanding of the World
Physical Development
Creative Development
From Year One all pupils follow the National Curriculum and study Religious Education.
Our core National Curriculum subjects are:
Literacy, Numeracy, Science & Information Technology.
Our National Curriculum foundation subjects are:
Art, Design & Technology, Geography, History, Religious Education, Music, & Physical Education.
Religious Education is taught in line with the Essex County agreed RE syllabus - that being broadly Christian in nature, but does include the study of other world faiths.
