Mr Webberley (below) hoping to 'duck - out' of
being photographed when presented with a small token which came with huge
thanks for all his hard work in fitting out our kitchen.

Originally to be used as a first aid area, this
small area was adapted to be used as an additional teaching area for small
groups - this is where the thought processes began and the idea of a
children's kitchen grew from a small seed to a fully fledged plant!!

The fruits of everyone's labour has already been
received when Lime and Maple Tree Class were able to enjoy using the kitchen
when they made their dips - watch this space for some of their photos!
Along with a crowd of families and staff from
school the ribbon was finally cut and the kitchen pronounced 'OPEN'!
Mrs. O'Rourke was presented with a bouquet of
flowers as a sign of our gratitude for all her hard work in planning
and procuring items for the kitchen.
Amelia (pictured right - from Apple Tree Class) was
delighted to be presenting the Mayor with a posy of flowers, not only
welcoming her to our school but as thanks for opening our fabulous kitchen
area.
Along with some fantastic fundraising from families
within our school and community, special thanks go to the members of the
Round Table in Great Dunmow who kindly donated £500.
The countertops are designed for children in mind
as they have a turn-handle to raise and lower the height of the working
area.
Fresh coat of paint along with a purpose made floor
and this area was already beginning to take on a new shape.
Once all the furniture was removed a semi-blank
canvas was left - at least one less thing would be the water connection!
