November 2023 - Whole School Christmas Pantomime
Good evening,
I just wanted to say thank you so much to the school, and everyone who helped to organise the Panto today. It was ####’s first one and he absolutely loved it. He has come home on cloud nine and said he wishes he could press rewind and do it all again.
Thank you so much, we are so grateful for all of the extra things the school do. It really is appreciated.
Looking forward to the rest of the festive celebrations 😊

Hi Mr Watts,
I was at the concert on Saturday to see xxxx in the choir and just wanted to feedback to you from a parents view of how well the children did and how they represented the school brilliantly.
If I'm honest I wasn't expecting a lot as I know they practice once a week and I hadn't really given it much thought but oh my they were marvellous! So powerful with their voices and really sounded good. Mr xxxxx had done an amazing job with them.
It was a long two hours on a hot day to be sat still for a long time but the children did sit so nicely and respectively while the older choirs sang their songs. Their behaviour was impeccable. The majority of the crowd were adults at retirement age and above and you could tell they loved to watch the children. The women behind me were commenting "oh aren't they lovely children, weren't they brilliant"
It was definitely a moment to feel proud of Great Dunmow Primary school so just wanted to pass that on. Also, a big thank you to Mr xxx, Ms xxx and Mrs xxx to take time out of their weekends for it.
Kind Regards
Mrs xxxx

Regarding the Christmas shopping morning – from a parent helper
It was an absolute pleasure to be involved.
The children were all so lovely, polite, thoughtful and kind. The year 5 and 6 children were particularly wonderful with their younger partners.
I think the whole morning is a wonderful idea. It is so humbling to see how much thought the children put in to their decisions, and to see what is important through their eyes. It’s a reminder that perceived monetary value isn’t all its thought to be!
I hope you and your staff and your family manage to have a peaceful Christmas. Thank you for everything that you do for all of our children, and therefore for us. It really is appreciated and truly valued.
Happy New Year,
December 2021
Subject: Merry Christmas
I just wanted to take some time out and wish you all a very Merry Christmas. I hope you all get to see your families and have a wonderful time.
Thank you to each and every one of you for doing such a good job at GDPS this last term. It shows so much in the children’s smiles. We really have the best school ever!
We hope to see you all back at school in January nice and safe.
Take care,

Subject: Thank you
Hi,
I just wanted to pop a little email across to say thank you for organising such a wonderful first full week back for the children.
After missing out on so much due to Covid-19, and not ever actually experiencing a full school year (year2 child) it’s so nice to have so many lovely things to enjoy.
Xxx spent time running around all the bouncy castles and having fun with his peers, it’s so lovely to see them so care free again.
Covid has had such a huge Impact on so many, but I feel incredibly lucky to have such a fantastic school that creates a fun, safe environment for our children to learn.
We are really looking forward to our first sports day tomorrow :)
Kind regards

Subject: Feedback for Mr Watts
Hi
As we are nearing the end of the school year, I just wanted to take the opportunity to drop you a quick note.
You’re aware that xxx started school in September 2020; I had concerns because he has always been quite a clingy child however, on his first day, he couldn’t get into the classroom quick enough and he has never looked back! All helped by the music in the playground of course!
Mr Watts, I think you’re a fantastic leader and you have led the school through a difficult time with great resilience and strength. I totally trust and admire your decision making – free of charge swimming lessons and fun sessions, cold lunches when the kitchen is out of order, the music in the playground, the dressing up, etc, etc, etc
I very much look forward to xxx continuing his educational journey through GDPS – it is much more than that though. His schooling will shape the person he becomes and what he goes onto achieve – and we made a great decision for him to attend the school.
Kind regards

Hello Mr Watts and the wonderful Great Dunmow Primary team,
I just wanted to say THANK YOU for all you are doing for all of us in what has been the most challenging time for us all. From hearing from my friends across the country and the level of schooling and support they have been receiving during the lockdown, GDPS has been head and shoulders above. I am proud to have two of my children as part of your family.
We will hopefully see you in September once normality in some shape has resumed.
Lots of love from The xxxxx family x

Swimming Gala - February 2020
I've just come back from the swimming gala and wanted to say how amazing our group of children was. Great performance from all the children: strong, determined and sincere. What an amazing experience for them all, they should all be very proud of themselves.
Could you please pass on my thanks to all the adults that were involved today, they were great with the children.

Letter of Congratulations September 2019
What a fantastic achievement to you and the school.
I can honestly say the forward thinking, hard work and care for the children at this school absolutely amazes me every day.
From giving out free veggies, bread etc. to the fun challenges the children are set it all works in making this a school I’m incredibly proud to have my children attend.
Well done.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for inviting me to the pantomime this year. I had the best time and was very proud to be there with the school. You all did a fantastic job organising it for the children and they clearly all enjoyed themselves! It was superbly done and the children were all safe and so well looked after, you all did an amazing job. Thank you again for letting me be part of such a fun afternoon with the school.

Hi,
Just wanted to say what a fantastic idea the buddy system at the school is.
This is xxxxxx meeting up with her old buddy - who bought a buddy teddy as a present for xxxxxx so she is always with her.
We now meet up every month and xxxxxxx helps xxxxxx with her homework. Friends for life.
Well done GDP.

A massive thank you for organising our visit yesterday.
We had a really lovely day at Great Dunmow School - we both remarked about the particularly good energy there was! Can't really explain it better than that - but it was just that all the staff and students seemed really happy, not that they had been miserable on other visits (!) - But all just seemed very calm and very positive. It was really, lovely.
The workshops were as much fun as usual with some of the pupils coming up with really quite exemplary work.
I've attached our invoice and a feedback sheet & if you get a chance to complete the latter that'd be great.
All good wishes

Seed Planting April 2017
Good morning Great Dunmow Primary School Team
Please can you relay my thanks to Mrs xxxx for the seed planting yesterday? My son, C of Fir Tree Class, had a great time planting seeds and is looking forward to watching them grow into various vegetables.
Kind regards
Space Slime May 2017
E had so much fun making space slime this week!
Like all good science experiments it took a few attempts and lots of sticky fingers to get the formula right but E was well prepared with her lab coat, safety goggles and measuring cylinders.
Once E had discovered the perfect space slime consistency the real fun began, adding colours, glitter and even alien eyeballs! E loved stretching it, she even had to stand on her chair as it stretched so far, she rolled it and loved feeling it "melt" between her fingers before rolling it together again.
I think making space slime is going to be a much loved rainy day experiment in our house, thank you! (I think?)

Good morning Mr W~~~

Neil and I both enjoyed today, it was great fun and really inspiring being asked so many questions.
Your students are a credit to you, very well behaved and polite.
I’ve done a few of these sessions and it was definitely one of the easiest and most enjoyable. It’s great when the kids want to know more as it shows that they are interested in the subject. It also makes me realise why people teach, as the rewards are evident.
Neil and I were really impressed with yourself and Miss xxxxxx with how you’re managing to integrate ‘Engineering’ into what must already be a jam packed school schedule. It’s brilliant that you are giving and teaching children, at such a young age, Engineering skills. Keep it up!
We also enjoyed the roast dinner, it was funny the children asking why we hadn’t washed our hands before eating! Thanks for letting involving us.
